The book Botànica proletària includes 4 photographs by Joan Fontcuberta and 2 original drawings by Sylvie Bussières. The drawings were made with graphite on top of black and white photographs by Joan Fontcuberta. The graphic collection is accompanied by a notebook with texts by Joan Fontcuberta, Joan Puigdefàbrega and Martí Boada. The collection comes in a hand-made cloth and wood folder. This project arose from the walks of the artists during the time of lockdown, imposed by the crisis of Covid-19, in the spring of 2020.

The project vindicates the wild and spontaneous nature that insists on growing on kerbsides or on verges in contrast to the nature that is domesticated in gardens. The poems that accompany the drawings and the photographs are a clear reference to rurality (or agrarianism), to its language, to the rhythm of the passing of the days that accompany and make possible this unstoppable profusion of life.

The edition was presented at the Fundació Palau i Fabre within the framework of the exhibition by Sylvie Bussières Males Herbes on 18 February 2022.

1 pamphlet with texts by Joan Fontcuberta, Joan Puigdefàbrega and poems by Martí Boada.
