Tinta Invisible is a publisher and graphic art studio based in Barcelona with more than twenty-five years’ experience.
We offer stamping services for print runs of engraving and printing of units or series using the giclée Fine Art technique.
We prepare customized publishing of newly-created, original graphic art in engraving or giclée. We work on behalf of institutions, companies, museums, galleries and artists. We personalize the presentation of each item of work.
We create and distribute our own publishing projects with well-renowned local and international artists through collections. You can purchase items from our collection of publications by one-off payment or by payment in instalments. We offer special rates for bulk purchases.
We coordinate external projects in publication format. Our publishing services take care of the management of content and style, collaborating with other professionals in the sector in order to adapt ourselves to each and every need of the client’s order.
We regularly welcome artistic projects by national and international artists at our exhibition space. We also organize group visits of our studio.
Tinta Invisible opened its doors in Barcelona’s Raval district in 1997, when Ricard Ibernon, Martí Guinovart, Àngels Arroyo and Joan Moreno came together to move into the space that would become our home. The ground floor at Carrer del Lleó, no. 6, filled with etching presses, buckets, burins and books, while we delved into the engraving arts working for Josep Guinovart. Within a short time, some of the most prestigious artists in the country – such as, Albert Ràfols Casamada, Alfons Borrell and Joan-Pere Viladecans – were among the list of artists who regularly came to the studio.
In 1998 we completed a portfolio of works by varied artists which established our own publishing line, which includes prominent national and internationals artists such as Joan Fontcuberta, Jana Sterbak, Perejaume, Eulàlia Valldosera, Alfredo Jaar, Hannah Collins, Ignasi Aballí, Carlos Bunga, Regina Giménez, Jaume Plensa, Jo Milne, Carlos Pazos, Jordi Alcaraz, Soledad Sevilla and Frederic Amat, among many others.
Currently, we have produced are large number of publications, but we have also broadened the team, diversified the techniques and services we offer and expanded the activities we organize in our studio. Tinta Invisible keeps on growing thanks to everyone who passes by our studio. We are very grateful to be able to continue dedicating ourselves to our trade and look forward to doing so for another twenty-five years.
Ricard Ibernon is the fastest to answer the phone and the person who will open the door to you when you visit the studio. He will show you round the studio and explain our project, and he will also have prepared the agenda, will reply to all your emails, show you the artworks or publications which are of most interest to you, and will draw up the documents signed by the studio. He will carry out the business plan, arrange the direct debit for your subscription, cut your prints with a cutter and will also have printed some of them.
Ricard is the studio’s voice.
Martí Guinovart covers the most mileage in the studio. He will greet you as he makes his way from the upper to the lower floor, and you will hear him whistling in the background. He will print your engravings – large or small –, and will manage the requirements of your publishing project to make sure they match what you want, and will contact trustworthy professionals to make sure your needs are met. He will press your prints and cut them with deckle edge cutters, create your folder, prepare the best packages for you, check your emails and orchestrate the mounting of the exhibition.
Martí is the studio’s hand.
Mercis Rossetti will be seated opposite the mirror waiting for you as you go up the stairs. She is the person everyone asks for on the telephone and who will answer any queries you may have. She will edit your images to ensure they are just as you imagined them to be, will show you the colour proofs, print your giclée prints and cut them. She will design cards, brochures and posters, draw up your invoice, hand you your items when you come to collect them and will always, always, say farewell at the door when you leave.
Mercis is the studio’s eye.
