We are going to ARCO LISBOA, ARTSLIBRIS!
Date: thursday 23 to sunday 26 may, 2024
Where: Torreão Nascente da Cordoaria Nacional
The publishing fair project specialized in artists' publications, photobooks, contemporary thought, self-publishing and digital publications reaches its sixth edition at ARCOlisboa.
In these years, the ArtsLibris community, renewing synergies and challenges, has consolidated an international trajectory with its own identity, rooted in the Mediterranean context and with a special focus on Ibero-America -Brazil, among other countries- and Lusophone Africa.
Dialogue and experimentation are the main hallmarks of ArtsLibris, whose fairs host curatorial projects, discussion forums, exhibitions, presentations and interdisciplinary collaborations.
In collaboration with ARCO, it has established itself as a way to bring contemporary art closer to the general public and, especially, to the younger generations, encouraging collecting through a plural and rigorous publishing community, creating new meeting points between art and society through artist publications.
This edition brings together 40 publishers from ten countries, reflecting the future possibilities of this exponential market for publications in these genres. Participating in ArtsLibris ARCOlisboa 2024 are publishers from: Portugal, Belgium, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Mexico and Chile.
ArtsLibris has three annual venues:
- ArtsLibris ARCOlisbon, May 23 - 26, 2024.
- ArtsLibris MACBA Barcelona, November 15 - 17, 2024.
- ArtsLibris ARCOmadrid, March 5 - 9, 2025 (2024 edition: held in March).
This 2024, the ArtsLibris Barcelona fair turns 15 and is hosted by the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona for the first time.
Since 2020 ArtsLibris also has a digital bookstore and a permanent, lively and innovative space, the ArtsLibris bookstore in Barcelona.
ArtsLibris, as a form of private-public alliance, has the important support of the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Barcelona City Council and the Spanish Ministry of Culture.
