“Identity”

Cleaning, illuminating, erasing have been the chapters of my production elaborated with simple and impersonal domestic objects linked to these daily rituals that mark an inside and an outside, a private and a public life. To sum it up, moments that gestate an identity or dilute it. Every human being practices some kind of hygiene, of care or protection. The market has designed a great variety of wrappers so as to make us identify some contents that are practically identical among themselves. We buy with our eyes... The products offered to us are objects with an entire strategy in back of them, an illusionary construction that, on the other hand, makes us treat these objects, these beautiful containers as old as the human communities, like things destined to oblivion and disdain. But apart from the “brand” and the “logo”, the container recovers a more lasting beauty, and at the time of cleaning the exterior with the interior’s soap, we discover an ancient beauty, of the trace, of the print, of the manual gesture, which modify our relationship with the content.
